Dan proposed to create a short film reflecting the experiences of immigrants in the Bay Area Jewish diaspora. Inspired by the award-winning film Nomadland, he will adapt a published, fiction short story as his seed and combine the fiction with the real-life stories of local immigrants. Dan will work closely with Professor Vered Shemtov, whose class on the Hebrew and Jewish short story inspired this projec.

He received The Dr. Bernard Kaufman Undergraduate Research Award in Jewish Studies in 2019 for his proposal on the state of traditional Jewish music in Israel and in 2021 for his proposal to produce a short film.
