REWIND: L.A. Jews
After a year of films mostly set in New York City, REWIND welcomes literary critic Adam Kirsch, Dr. Maya Montañez Smukler (author of Liberating Hollywood), and author Melissa Broder (Milk Fed) to discuss L.A. Jews as seen through the eyes of Jewish women filmmakers. We'll consider the now classic coming-of-age comedy Clueless (1995) and Joey Soloway's Afternoon Delight (2013). This is the final event of our year-long retrospective film series celebrating Jewish women filmmakers, REWIND: the Shenson Retrospective Film Series. We invite you to stream the movies on your own and join the virtual conversation!
