Omer Waldman
Omer Waldman is a PhD candidate in the Department of Hebrew Language and Mandel School at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His primary research interest is modern Hebrew literature from a linguistic perspective. He is currently completing a dissertation titled The Language of Avot Yeshurun: A Linguistic-Philological View, which explores Yeshurun's unique style through unpublished manuscripts from his archive. During his stay at the Taube Center, Omer is working on Abba Kovner's unpublished speeches about Avraham Shlonsky, focusing on Kovner's views on poetics and the role of poets in Israeli society. Omer has contributed research articles, essays, book reviews, poems, and prose to the literary supplements of the Israeli newspapers Haaretz and Yedioth Aharonot, as well as to notable journals in Israel. His poetry collections, Physical Education (חינוך גופני, 2019) and Episodes of Tehilla (פרקי תהילה, 2024), have been well-received by critics.
