Description of research plan: My research examines how Israeli Jewish intellectuals are using digital platforms like Substack and independent newsletters to reshape contemporary Jewish discourse following October 7th. Working under the supervision of Stanford's Professor Russell Berman and Jerusalem-based scholar Dr. Daniel Gordis, the project will conduct interviews with prominent Israeli writers who have built significant international audiences through digital media. The research explores how these platforms are transforming Israel-diaspora intellectual relationships and creating new forms of Jewish public discourse. The project will produce investigative journalism examining how traditional Jewish intellectual values—questioning, debate, and wrestling with complexity—are being translated into digital environments.
