James Redfield (PhD Religious Studies 2017) is beginning a three-year appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago Divinity School for the winter and spring quarters. In summer and fall, he will spend the next two years as a Humboldt Fellow at the School of Jewish
Theology in Potsdam, Germany, while retaining his appointment as Assistant Professor of Biblical and Talmudic Literatures in the Department of Theological Studies at Saint Louis University. James' edition,
translation, and literary study of Mikhah Yosef Berdichevsky's Yiddish prose is forthcoming with Syracuse University Press in October 2021. His first monograph is under contract with Brown, a chapter of which appeared in a volume with the same press in 2021.
