Giddon Ticotsky is a literary scholar specializing in Modern Hebrew literature. He is an associate professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, at the Hebrew Literature Department, and serves there as the head of the Center for Literary Studies, as well as the head of the program of Yiddish Language, Literature, and Culture. His main areas of interest include Hebrew modernism, in itself and as related to European culture; the formation of the Hebrew canon and reception theories; the historiography of Hebrew literature; Modern Hebrew poetry; Digital Humanities and Archival Studies. Ticotsky joins Stanford for a residency at the Stanford Humanities Center in the winter of 2025.
