Norma and Sam Dabby Professor of Jewish Studies at UC Berkeley, Roni Masel, will share research from her current book project, tentatively titles, “Yiddish Empires: Visions of Race and the Global in Modern Yiddish Culture.” This research considers works of literature and philology to examine a globalizing Yiddish culture in the twentieth century between Europe, North America, and South Africa. Masel joins us to deliver the 5th Annual Eve Lokey Lecture in Yiddish Studies.
